Kerstin Glaess lives in Indiana with her partner T and her cat Bunny. She has been a professional in the entertainment and media industry since 2015. Though she has been an artist for as long as she can remember, she has been an oil painter since age 14. In 2020, Kerstin re-launched her blog as a way to document things that sparked joy in her life.

Who takes all the pictures?

Myself and my partner T take most of pictures for the blog. If not, the copyright holder is attributed.

May I use your photographs on my site?

Of course! Please just make sure to link back to my blog as my images are all copyrighted.

On what platform do you host your blog?

My blog is hosted on Wix.

What do you do for a living?

I am a Studio Artist, a freelancer in TV &  Film, and an independent educator. Most of my work is gig-based and if I am not working on my own ideas, I am hired for specific projects.

How did you get your start in "the biz"?

I never planned to work in entertainment. I was asked to volunteer on student and community films while I was pursuing a Master's in Education and I realized I loved it. I moved to NYC and followed opportunities including film school.

What did you study in college?

For undergrad, I went to the University of Mississippi and studied psychology and English literature. I have a MFA in cinema arts, with an emphasis in producing from CUNY- Brooklyn College. I am currently pursuing my MA in Art Education at the University of Florida. The real question is, do I want a Ph.D.?

Why was my comment removed/not published?

I appreciate constructive critical feedback, but my goal is to keep the discussion positive, and if the tone of your comment is rude, angry, or in poor taste, it won't be published.

That being said, I am trying to make my blog as transparent as possible. Blog comments are monitored only within the first 72 hours a post is published.

If you feel like your feedback has gone unheard of, please email me directly at elevatingeveryday@gmail.com. Please note, though all emails are read and taken into consideration, not every email is responded to.

Why did you start this blog?

I wanted a way to document the things I loved while dealing with the emotional drain of the everyday entertainment industry.

I originally wanted to embark on a Julie-and-Julia inspired journey with a book called Classic German Baking by Luisa Weiss. The plan was for me to attempt to bake German recipes I remembered from my youth (and those that just sounded yummy), while also encouraging personal moments of self-reflection as a way to continue the memory of my Oma, father, and all those who influenced my love for cooking and baking.

This blog has since evolved to include things that inspire me: essentially anything that I find entertaining, helpful, and informative, while also mixing in some personal stories and gratitudes. I keep a journal for everything personal (cheaper than therapy!), but I hope others can find inspiration through my journey.
